Thursdays

Interact Meets Thursdays at 2:15 in room 233. Come join us for a chance to make a real difference while having fun! Interact is a service club and is sponsored by Pahrump Valley Rotary. Meetings are Thursday room 233 at 2:15. See Mrs. Cunningham for more information.

 

Faithful Youth Ministry (FYM) meets Thursdays at lunch in room 9.

 

STUDENTS and STAFF, yearbooks go on sale starting Wednesday, August 9th. You may buy your book online or in Mrs. K's room, 226. You can make payments online at Jostens.com or with Mrs. K. It's the best price of the year right now! We also have last year's books for sale for $80.

The GEAR UP office would like to invite all 11th and 12th grade students to visit the College and Career Corner located in the GEAR UP office. We have tables filled with valuable college, scholarship and career pamphlets and books!

Open gym for Boys Basketball will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the auxiliary gym.

 

SENIORS!!  As new scholarship information arrives it's added to the "Scholarship Drawer" in counseling.  Please check periodically for additions.  You can now access this information on the school's home page by clicking on the "Scholarship Button" on the right side of the page. 

 

SENIORS:  If your parent has been employed full time for at least 4 years in a school setting please check the "Scholarship Drawer" in the counseling office for the "Educator's Legacy Scholarship".

 

 

 

Tues-Wed-Thurs

After school tutoring will be provided by GEAR UP for ALL students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the library from 2:30 - 3:30. Tutoring will cover all subjects and there is no need to sign-up in advance just come to the library after school on these days and sign-in when you arrive.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS:  If you have volunteered within the past year check out the

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards scholarship information in the "Scholarship

Drawer" in the counseling office.  Deadline to submit is November 7, 2017.

 

ATTENTION 10TH AND 11TH GRADE STUDENTS!!  If you would like an opportunity to work with a university level research scientist on a multi week cancer research project then you should check out the Emperor Science Award 2018 Program.  Visit their website at www.EmperorScienceAward.com for more information.

ATTENTION:  Current 10th and 11th grade students!  Are you interested in spending a year abroad while living with a German host family and attending a local German high school?  You do NOT have to speak German to qualify for this unique opportunity.  If you are interested don't delay speaking to your school counselor - the deadline to apply is December 12, 2017.

 

Everyday Intramurals for baseball will be Wednesday from 3:30-5:30. Please come prepared and have your registrations complete on registermyathlete.

Change is given out in the morning before school at lunch and after school in the library.

SENIORS:  The U S Army recruiter will be here Wednesday, November 15, 2017.  If you are interested in joining the Army after graduation sign up in the counseling office to attend the information session.

Attention Juniors: The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans in enrolling in college in the fall of 2019 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. More information and applications are available on the scholarship website at www.coolidgescholars.org. The application deadline is January 24, 2018.

 

Until 11/14

Great Basin College Driver education classes begin 11/14 and 12/19/17. The cost is $75. Please enroll at www.campusce.net/gbcnv or by calling 775-753-2202. The GBC courses are approved by the Nevada DMV and can be completed in less than 8 weeks.

 

The only passes that will be accepted will be the NIAA Activity Card.

Come out and support the Pahrump Valley High School's Key Club by wearing Red, White, and Blue on November 7th in support of all our great veterans who have served our country.

ALL football players need to meet in the wrestling room after school at 2:30 pm on Tuesday November 7, with all equipment washed and ready to turn in. Even if you have dropped off equipment already, you NEED to attend the meeting.
