Attention Graduating class of 2024 🎉 Diplomas are ready early! Please feel free to come in to the PVHS main office any time between 7am and 2:30pm, Monday through Friday until the office closes June 14th. We look forward to seeing you! A quick reminder that if you were awarded an honor stole and you want to keep it, please bring $20 cash or the stole to return. If you borrowed a tassel and want to keep it, please bring $15 cash or bring the tassel back to us. If you borrowed a cap and gown, you must bring them back in order to pick up your diploma! PVHS Cap and Gown Pick Up Day! (Also other Grad Gear-Announcements, etc) Date: Thursday, March 21st, 2024 Time: 11am to 1pm Place: Room 14 This will be for those that have ordered their Cap and Gown directly from Jostens. If you are borrowing a cap and gown those will be given out closer to the ceremony. If you have not ordered your cap and gown yet please go to www.Jostens.com. If you are unable to come during those times Jostens will leave your items with Mrs. McCauley for pick up later in the main office. Please be sure your Jostens account is paid in full or bring your final payment with you. You can call the local Jostens office at 702-384-3300 with any questions.

Final Update Regarding the Lockdown at PVHS Students were overheard during first lunch organizing a fight, and a gun was mentioned. Another student reported the discussion to staff. The school was locked down about 11:15 under the guidance of the NCSO. All involved students were found and searched. No fight took place, no weapons were found, and no students were injured. The lockdown was lifted about 1:30 and those students who had not eaten were allowed to go to lunch. All students were given a five minute bathroom break. ------------ Please watch for an article on our website regarding how we will change our communication procedure based on lessons from this event.

PVHS is lifting the lockdown at this time. The students who did not go to lunch will go now. Everyone else will remain in their 5th period class. All students will have a 5 minute break to use the restroom.

Apologies for the confusion. The PVHS situation is under control and the NCSO is consulting with the school administration to lift the lockdown, but it is still in place. Please do not come to the school at this time.

PVHS has implemented a LOCKDOWN emergency procedure because of a student disturbance. The disturbance is contained. The lockdown has been implemented to facilitate the investigation. All students are safe. During practice drills, your student learned this means classroom instruction will stop and staff and students are ready for response. No building entrance is allowed except for response personnel. All perimeter and classroom doors are locked and there is no hallway traffic. Please monitor the Nye County School District Website or Facebook page for additional information as it becomes available.

Calling all PVHS class of 2024 Parents and Guardians! The Class of 2024 picture is ready and Maughan Photography is taking orders!

VEA has restored power at the district office in Pahrump. It will take between and 30-60 minutes to bring all systems back online for internet and phones.

VEA is estimating another 90 minutes to repair the power at the district office, which has taken out phones and internet at the schools. They found the source of the outage and have a crew on the way. Classes are proceeding mostly normally. There is no change to school schedules.

Parents and Guardians, If you would like alerts on your phone when we have a situation like today's Pahrump power outage, please download the NCSD app and turn on the notifications as pictures in the attached image. Links to the app are at the bottom of our webpage: https://www.nye.k12.nv.us/ You can specify which of our schools from which you want to receive alerts, and you can update those settings as your kids grow and change schools.

Alert: A power outage is affecting the district office in Pahrump. Because out this, no schools have internet, and most phone systems are affected. The schools have power, so instruction continues, and the school schedules are proceeding normally. Because of the AT&T outage, many of our employees cannot use Dojo to communicate to families, so please be patient.

PVHS Athletics will be having its Spring Sports parent meeting this Tuesday, 2/27/2024 at 6:00 PM in the main gym. After the general session in the gym, we will break into separate rooms by sports. This will allow you to meet the coaching staff that is working with your student-athlete and answer questions about the season. This meeting is important and we appreciate it if at least one parent/guardian is able to attend per athlete. We look forward to seeing you there.
