Desiree Veloz, Principal

Nye County's focus is "Every Student a Success!"  As the lead learner at Pahrump Valley High School, I find it paramount that every action I take puts emphasis on exactly that.  As a Round Mountain High School graduate (also in Nye County), I was afforded opportunities through the school and exceptional teachers that have led me to be the first generation college graduate (Go Pack!) in my family, to follow a career and passion for a purposeful life, and to serve today. While we point to "Every Student a Success" we recognize that this is not per our definition, but instead, through collaboration and support of the student, family, and staff.  It is about vision and sharing opportunities.  Without that support in my own educational experience, I likely would not be where I am today.  

I have three students in the Nye County School system, a husband who is a Pahrump Valley High School graduate and teacher at Rosemary Clarke, and we are proud to call Pahrump home.  I believe this is my purpose and I am thankful to lead at Pahrump Valley High School.  We are a community.  This experience should serve the student, the family, the staff, and the community.  Please always feel empowered to use your voice and lock arms with administration and teachers to enrich our mission of "Every Student a Success."
